This listing is for a 2014-2020 Holden RG Colorado ECU (Engine Control Module – E98) which includes programming to suit your vehicles Operating System (OS) and calibration.

We do not require a deposit or core ECU back, this is an outright purchase for a replacement ECU.

 

Common Problems

Some of the common faults that can occur due to a failed ECU include:

Programming Information

To successfully program a replacement Engine Control Module (ECM) to your Holden Commodore, it must be security linked to the vehicle before the car will be able to start.

 

This security linking procedure is the process of programming the cars unique 4 digit immobilizer code (immo/security code) and key information into the engine computer so that it is allows to start the vehicle. Without this security linking, the vehicle will not be allowed to start.

 

There are three options for programming:

1) Ship your security modules in – We will flash the replacement ECU with the required VIN and calibrations, then perform the security linking on our bench setup with the replacement engine computer and your security modules so that the vehicle can start once fitted to your car. Your MUST perform additional relearns including Crankshaft Position Variation and Clutch Pedal Position (For manuals only) using a suitable scantool after fitting the replacement engine computer.

If your original ECU is still communicating, we can CLONE it to the replacement which means the replacement will be 100% plug and play (No additional relearns required).

 

2) VIN and Calibration flash only – We will flash the replacement ECU with the required VIN and calibrations only. Security linking and relearns must be performed by a local dealership before vehicle will start.

 

3) Program at Home with OBDSync – We will supply you with the replacement engine computer and an OBDSync kit which allows you to perform the security linking and relearn procedures at home. OBDSync is a GM/Holden programing software, it requires using a windows laptop and an internet connection. Please look below for a video demonstration showing how to program with OBDSync.
